Our Friday night Clipper is rolling through on schedule. Winter weather advisories continue for southern Minnesota. Roads are slick as expected south and west of the Twin Cities tonight.
Snow continues to decorate radar images overnight, and model trends still lay out the heaviest snow bands southwest of the Twin Cities along an axis either side of the Minnesota River valley. NOAA's early evening HRRR model has shifted the snow zone even slightly more to the south.
Chilly weekend; a shot at 50 Thanksgiving Day?
Our Clipper drags a shot of cold air in tow. We enjoy a chilly weekend. Temperatures warm into the 40s again by next Wednesday. As they were this week, I think the numbers below are too conservative next week. Upper 40s to near 50-degrees looks likely for southern Minnesota and possibly the Twin Cities by Thanksgiving Day.
Right now I still don't see any big travel issues in the Upper Midwest next week. We can be grateful for that indeed.
