Frost will be common in north and central Minnesota the next several days. The Twin Cities inner core will likely escape frost this week but lows in the lower 40s will be common. Blue is taking over the weather maps in the Upper Midwest.
Frost is typical in northern Minnesota in late September. The average date for the first 32-degree temperature at MSP Airport is October 10.
Wet September
As predicted last week, parts of southern Minnesota picked up 3 to 6 inches of rainfall in the past week. Many farm fields in southern Minnesota are dealing with wet conditions.
So far this is the 7th wettest September on record. It's also the wettest in 32 years.
Rivers running high
