Climate scientists have known for a long time that burning coal changes the chemistry of our atmosphere. As newer, cheaper energy sources come online, coal is now one of the costliest ways to produce electricity.
Jim Bruggers, who writes about energy and climate for Inside Climate News, explains why customers' electric bills have doubled in coal country.
