Our inbound weather system rolls in with snow Monday. Here are the key forecast points.
Snow spreads east into the Twin Cities from midday Monday and increases in coverage into Monday afternoon and night.

The first pulse comes in with temperatures near or above freezing, so roads will be mostly wet for afternoon rush hours Monday.
Occasional light snow tonight with slick roads developing.
Heavier snow arrives Tuesday morning.

This could be a long-duration snow event for some parts of Minnesota. Light snow may continue through Monday night but we may see some breaks.
Overall, this system comes in two pulses. The heaviest snow zone likely sets up over southern Minnesota Tuesday. I'm not fully buying into the notion of 6 to 8 inches in the Twin Cities just yet, but that seems likely across southern Minnesota.
Typical winter?
Believe it or not this has been a fairly average winter. Even though it seemed cold, March was fairly close to average in the Twin Cities.

Milder next week?
Temperatures remain 15 to 20 degrees colder than average for this first week of April.
Most models still show a warming trend late next week, with 40s and 50s more likely. Some still advertise a shot at 60 degrees late next week.
