Here we go. Again.
Our next way-too-late-in-the-season snow event rolls across Minnesota through Saturday morning. The heaviest snow zone tracks north of the Twin Cities with this one. Those of you either side of a Fargo to Hinckley line will pick up heavy snow and plenty of wind by midday Saturday.
Here's the latest situation report from the Twin Cities NWS.
Winter storm warnings blanket a big swath of central and northern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin. Blizzard warnings are flying in the Red River Valley.

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Duluth MN
302 PM CDT Fri Mar 30 2018
...HEAVY SNOWFALL EXPECTED ACROSS THE NORTHLAND TONIGHT...
.An area of heavy snowfall will spread across northern Minnesota
and northwest Wisconsin tonight, leading to significant snowfall
accumulations and very poor travel conditions. Snow will begin
this evening in north-central Minnesota and spread eastward over
northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin late tonight. Snowfall
rates of over one inch per hour will be possible after midnight,
along with northerly winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 30 mph,
which may cause blowing snow at times through Saturday afternoon.
Reduced visibilities down to a quarter mile or less and snow-
covered roads will be likely Saturday morning, making travel
extremely dangerous. Snow will end quickly from west to east
Saturday morning.
Red River Valley blizzard
It's a full-blown blizzard warning for the Red River Valley. Here's the view from the Grand Forks NWS.
Twin Cities on the edge
The metro rides the rain/snow line overnight once again. Look for a mix of precip types into Saturday morning. I'm still leaning toward little or no snow accumulation in the south metro. Central metro likely picks up a snowy inch or two. Plowable snowfall is looking more likely in the northern Twin Cities. The latest model runs suggest a slight shift south in storm track. That means we could potentially see slightly higher accumulations in some parts of the Twin Cities.
Cold and colder
The natives are getting restless on our persistent cold. There's no way to sugar coat what I'm seeing on the maps. It looks to stay cold, as much as 10 to 20 degrees colder than average for the next 10 days. The Easter Bunny needs a parka this year.
Hope in two weeks?
Those of us hoping for milder days may be in luck in about two weeks. With the way this "spring" is going I'm not making any promises, but most models suggest temperatures in the 50s, maybe 60s in two weeks.
Hang in there Minnesota!
