At 7 p.m. on Classical MPR you can hear a program celebrating the eight-day Jewish Festival of Lights, which began Tuesday night.
During "Itzhak Perlman's Chanukah Radio Party" the celebrated violinist shares his favorite recordings for the holiday. You'll hear classical and folk music sung in English, Yiddish and Ladino that describe the Hanukkah miracle and other rituals associated with the holiday.
Like most holidays, food plays a big part. During the show, Perlman will play a couple of songs about a Hanukkah favorite, the potato pancake or latke including "The Latke Song" by Debbie Friedman.
