MPR News host Tom Weber talked with North Dakota 

 about her legislation to address the problem of missing and murdered Native American women and girls. 

 after Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind, the native woman from Fargo who was eight months pregnant when she was murdered.

Heitkamp is concerned that last year North Dakota had 125 reported cases of missing Native women, according to the National Crime Information Center. More than 5,700 were reported missing nationwide.
