Lawyer and MSNBC chief legal correspondent Ari Melber spoke at a live Westminster Town Hall Forum on politics and justice in a talk titled "Politics, Governing and the Law."
Melber began with a premise: "While important, the investigation into Russian meddling is not a legitimate outlet for dissatisfaction or even the potential removal of a deeply unpopular president, who flagrantly divides and demeans our politics."
Problems with President Trump should be solved within our political system, not the justice system, Melber said.
While the political backdrop can't really be divorced from the conversation, the public and everyone directly involved should be looking only at it as a legal process, not a tool to achieve in court what can't be achieved politically.
