There was a big trove of data released last week by the U.S. Census Bureau, much of it about poverty. Children's Defense Fund-Minnesota did some analysis of the data on child poverty.

Some poverty numbers have improved, but others have gotten worse.

Poverty among Native American children increased 30 percent.

Patina Park, the executive director of the Minnesota Indian Women's Resource Center, joined the program along with Stephanie Hogenson, outreach director at the state Children's Defense Fund.

"Child poverty continues to decline since the economic recovery of the past five years," said Hogenson.

However, lower-income families have not made the same gains as higher-income families.
