Minnesota Republicans will be back in Duluth for their 2018 state convention.
GOP delegates will meet June 1-2, which is the same weekend the Minnesota DFL Party holds its state convention in Rochester.
Republican Party of Minnesota chair Jennifer Carnahan announced in a news release this week that the convention will be held at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC).
“Duluth represents an area of the state which will be of incredible importance in the next election cycle,” Carnahan said. “The DECC did a fantastic job in 2016 and we look forward to another successful convention next June.”
Convention delegates will have the job of endorsing candidates for U.S. Senate, governor, secretary of state, state auditor and attorney general.
The party also announced that state Sen. Michelle Benson and state Rep. Jim Nash will be the convention co-chairs.
The Minnesota DFL announced earlier this summer that its 2018 state convention will be June 1-3 at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester.
