Today's Morning Edition music is from "Stand Back" by Stevie Nicks. She'll be performing Friday night in the Grandstand at the Minnesota State Fair.
After singing this song in Wisconsin two nights ago she talked about her friendship with Prince, which began in the 1970s.
Nicks said that in 1983 she was listening to to the radio on the way to her honeymoon, when she heard "Little Red Corvette" for the first time. She immediately pulled out a pen and paper and wrote a poem to the song, which would eventually become "Stand Back." When she recorded it, Prince stopped by the studio and played the synthesizer.
