Cool temps will stay with us throughout this weekend, with Minnesota highs mostly in the 60s.
Some spots in northwestern and north-central Minnesota could top out in the upper 50s.
The Twin Cities metro area will see high temps this weekend that are normal for early May and late September.

Warmer this week
Highs in the 70s return to much of Minnesota on Monday.
Most spots in Minnesota will warm well into the 70s Tuesday afternoon:
Twin Cities high temps should reach the upper 70s Tuesday, lower 80s on Wednesday and Thursday.
Our average high temp is in the lower 80s this time of year in the Twin Cities.
Rain chances
There will be some scattered showers and possibly a few thunderstorms in Minnesota both days this weekend.
Northeastern Minnesota will probably see the most minutes of rain this weekend, southwestern Minnesota will see the fewest minutes of rain.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's North American Mesoscale forecast model shows the rain pattern this weekend:
It'll probably rain in some areas that look dry on the simulated radar, but the loop illustrates the general rain pattern.
The color chart to the right of the loop refers to the strength of the signal that returns to the radar, not to the amount of rain.
Hot weekend in Phoenix
As I mentioned yesterday, Phoenix is enduring a major heat wave.
Record highs were set in Phoenix, Arizona on Monday through Wednesday this past week.
They peaked at 119 degrees on Tuesday.
They're expecting 114 degrees this weekend:
An excessive heat warning remains in effect for the Phoenix area through Monday.

June heat in Minnesota
It occasionally gets very hot in Minnesota during late June.
