Gregory Lawrence Robinson died Monday morning being shot in the chest the day before in south Minneapolis, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner said Wednesday.
The medical examiner and Minneapolis police are investigating the killing of Robinson, a 17-year-old from Mounds View.
He was shot just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of 10th Avenue South and 24th Avenue East. It's a busy spot in the Phillips neighborhood, near a coffee shop, food market and a small mall.
Police found Robinson on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound when they arrived on the scene.
Investigators were canvassing the area, looking for information and witnesses.
Police are asking anyone with information to submit their tips via phone or anonymous text message. The numbers for both lines are on insidempd.com.
City data show 10 homicides in 2017 as of May 29. Police have reported at least two more killings in the city since then, including Robinson's.
