Princeton professor Eddie Glaude Jr. explores that it means to be American, in conversation with MPR's Kerri Miller for the "Thread" book series.
He's the author of "Democracy in Black: How Race Still Enslaves the American Soul," and "In a Shade of Blue: Pragmatism and the Politics of Black America."
Glaude is chair of the Center for African-American Studies and the William S. Tod Professor of Religion and African-American Studies at Princeton University.
The event was held May 16, 2017 at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul.
