Many spots will stay in the 40s during the daylight hours this Saturday, after seeing some lower 50s just after midnight.

Very cool
Our average high this time of year is 71 degrees in the Twin Cities metro area.
Our 51 degree reading at 2 a.m. Saturday could end up being the high temp for the day!
The warmest spots in Minnesota this Saturday will be in the northwest, where some mid to upper 50s are possible.
On Sunday, southern and central Minnesota will see highs in the 50s:
Northern Minnesota will top out in the 40s.
Twin Cities highs should reach the upper 60s Monday, around 60 Tuesday, mid 60s Wednesday and around 70 Thursday.
Coolest May high temps
We typically see at least one very cool day during the month of May.
I checked the Twin Cities weather archives to find our coldest May high temps:
2016 50 degrees
2015 48 degrees
2014 49 degrees
2013 38 degrees
2012 60 degrees
That was a very warm May in 2012, with highs of 80 degrees or warmer on 10 days in the Twin Cities.
