The Minnesota State Patrol is asking for the public's help following an early morning road rage incident in White Bear Lake where a man allegedly fired a handgun at another vehicle.

According to the patrol, a confrontation between two drivers that began with tailgating or brake checking around 8:30 a.m. at Interstate 694 westbound and Minnesota Highway 120 quickly escalated.

"As the suspect's vehicle, described as a 2006 white Cadillac Escalade, exited White Bear Avenue, the suspect fired one shot at the victim's vehicle, shattering the victim's back window," the patrol said in a statement .

The victim was driving a Ford Explorer. No one was hit or injured. But the suspect is considered potentially armed and dangerous and should not be approached, the patrol said.

The white Escalade has Minnesota license plate 275KLG. Anyone with information is asked to contact law enforcement immediately.

The Escalade license plate is registered to a female, but the driver was male, said patrol spokesperson Lt. Tiffani Nielson. Officers, she added, searched the registered address but did not find the Escalade.
