Today's Morning Edition music is from Minneapolis-based rapper Brother Ali, who announced Tuesday that he's coming out with a new record called "All the Beauty in This Whole Life." It will be released on May 5 on the Rhymesayers label.

One of the new tracks is already out. It's called "Pen to Paper" and tells the story of his life and how he got into music business.
