John Kriesel is coming home tomorrow after spending two full days at the Walter Reed Military Medical Center near Washington, DC.
The retired staff sergeant and former Minnesota state representative is there to take part in a medical study ordered by Congress to learn more about the effects of traumatic brain injuries and how they might be treated.
Kriesel experienced a traumatic brain injury 10 years ago in Iraq when a roadside bomb detonated. In the blast, he also lost both his legs. He discussed the research with MPR News' Cathy Wurzer.
