Thousands of people protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline project are promising to stay at their camp about 50 miles south of Bismarck, N.D., despite snow, strong winds and evacuation orders from state and federal officials.
MPR News reporter Dan Gunderson joined host Tom Weber for an update.
Gunderson touched on the weather, the influx of veterans to the camp and where the sitting president, and President-elect Donald Trump, stand on the Dakota Access Pipeline.
"People want to go to renewable energy instead of using fossil fuels, " said Gunderson. "It's not necessarily about this pipeline ... it's about that larger issue of not using fossil fuels."
