Homelessness in Minnesota is down for the first time since 2006, according to a Wilder Research report released last week.

Every three years, Wilder goes out on a single night to count people who are homeless. This latest study found 9,312 people experiencing homelessness in the state, a 9 percent decrease from the previous study in 2012.

Wilder's Michelle Decker Gerrard and the state director to Prevent and End Homelessness, Cathy ten Broeke dug into the numbers of the Wilder study, and also talked about the larger issues: Who's most at risk, what's working, what's not, and what needs to happen to further reduce homelessness in Minnesota?
