A body found in a wooded area in Mendota Heights has been identified as 35 year-old Joseph Michael Hernandez.
Cause and manner of death are pending further investigation by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner and Dakota County Sheriff's Office.
Police say a hiker on Thanksgiving Day found the body in the Dodge Nature Preserve just east of Interstate 35E and south of Minnesota Highway 110.
Mendota Heights police had been searching for Hernandez since a friend reported him missing from a local motel on Nov. 7.
