It's just four blocks, nestled next to the University of Minnesota and the Mississippi River, but Dinkytown has been a center of Minneapolis' political, intellectual and cultural life for a century.
It's where Robert Zimmerman first started introducing himself as "Bob Dylan" and where students protested Red Barn and the Vietnam War.
Historian Bill Huntzicker recently published a book documenting the history of the business district. He spoke with MPR's Cathy Wurzer.
