The Minnesota Department of Health is still trying to find the source of the bacteria causing Legionnaires' disease, which has sickened at least 12 people in Hopkins.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke about the sickness and the state's investigation with Rich Danila, the assistant state epidemiologist. He said health officials think there's some waterborne source.
"Our hypothesis is that it is something, a community wide outbreak of socially some water source, possibly a cooling tower, or fountain, or some other water source," he said. "We've been trying to find every possible water source in that area. And working with the owners to remediate to, you know, super sanitize each water feature or cooling tower."
