Updraft® - Minnesota Weather News

Sun and patchy clouds, cool

Northwesterly winds today, southerly winds on Sunday.

Wind direction is a major factor in temperature trends this time of year.

Our Saturday will be the cooler day of the weekend, with highs in the upper 60s over northern Minnesota:

Some spots in southern Minnesota will see lower 70s this afternoon.

Northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin could see a few scattered showers. Sunshine and patchy clouds are on tap for most of Minnesota.

Warmer Sunday, then temps dip

An approaching low pressure system will give us southerly breezes on Sunday, helping us warm into the mid to upper 70s over much of Minnesota:

Forecast maps show a cold front moving into Minnesota late Sunday night and Monday. The final image in the loop shows the cold front position Monday morning:

Highs in the 60s are expected over northwester Minnesota on Monday, with some lower 70s over the southeast. Scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm are possible Monday afternoon and evening.

The Twin Cities metro area is likely to see highs in the mid to upper 60s on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Football weather

We'll have great football weather for our local college teams this Saturday afternoon. They'll have to contend with some gusty winds at times, but there isn't any rain in the forecast.

The Minnesota Vikings will be playing the Titans in Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday. They should have a lot of sun, with a high temp in the lower 80s. Dew points will be in the upper 50s.

It'll be steamy in Jacksonville, Florida Sunday, as the Green Bay Packers take on the Jaguars. The high temp will be in the lower 90s, with dew point temperatures around 70.
