Creedence Clearwater Revival started a nine-week run at No. 1 on the U.S. charts on this date in 1970 with their album 'Cosmo's Factory.'

The album name came from the warehouse in Berkeley, California where they rehearsed.

Bandleader John Fogerty was known to be such a demanding perfectionist that the band's drummer, Doug 'Cosmo' Clifford, began referring to the space as 'The Factory." It was really just an unused garage.
