There's a documentary opening Friday at St. Anthony Main Theatre in Minneapolis that tells a raw and important story of gang culture in Indian Country. The movie "The Seventh Fire" has gotten rave reviews at festivals around the world and appeared this spring at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival.
MSP Film Society is now hosting a two-week release in the Twin Cities.
"The Seventh Fire" tells the story of two men, Robert Duane Brown and Kevin Fineday Jr., who live in a place called Pine Point - or P-Town - on the White Earth Reservation in northern Minnesota. They both reflect on the pasts they've had, the drug culture that surrounds them today, and the futures they could have.
Tom Weber spoke earlier this spring with Brown and Fineday, along with film director Jack Pettibone Riccobono.
