Today's Morning Edition music is from "Treetop Flyer" by Stephen Stills.

It's a song Ray LaMontagne credits with turning his life around.

LaMontagne says it came streaming out of his radio alarm clock one morning more than a decade ago. He was working at a shoe factory in Maine, and he had to get up before dawn to get to his shift. When he heard it, he says he had an epiphany.

He just knew he had to get himself out of this job and start playing music.

The now successful singer-songwriter will play the State Theater in Minneapolis tomorrow night when he could play the song 'Hey, No Pressure' which is on his newest album.
