Former first lady Laura Bush talks about her work to educate and empower women and girls in Afghanistan, Egypt and Tunisia. Mrs. Bush says when half a country's population is left out, it's a failed country. She spoke at the Aspen Ideas Festival along with Mina Sherzoy, the founder of the Afghan Women's Business Federation.
Laura Bush is chair of the Women's Initiative at the George W. Bush Institute in Dallas. The moderator was Aspen Institute CEO Walter Isaacson, on June 27, 2016.
