We'll have very pleasant weather today, with a high pressure system sitting over Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
Winds will be light, and we'll have plenty of sunshine.
Highs will be very typical for mid July, with some 70s in far northern Minnesota and 80s over the central and south:

The high-pressure system moves to the southeast tomorrow, and our winds will shift to the south:
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.

Three hot and humid days
The jet stream shifts northward into Canada by midweek, and steamy weather is expected from Wednesday through Friday.
The Twin Cities office of the National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch from 1 p.m. Wednesday to 10 p.m. Friday for central and southern Minnesota:
Highs in the 90s to near 100, and dew point temperatures in the mid and upper 70s, will give us heat index values in the 100 to 110 degree range for parts of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Some spots in southwestern Minnesota could hit 100 on Thursday.
Weekend relief
A cold front moves through Minnesota late Friday night and early Saturday.
It could bring us some scattered showers and thunderstorms, and it will leave us with weekend highs in the 80s.
