Another weekend, another freeway closure — or two. Portions of two major roadways are closing this weekend, so if you're driving around the metro, you'll want to leave early or plan alternate routes.

Here's your weekend road hassles map, courtesy of the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Interstate 35W, Arden Hills

Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday, northbound I-35W will be closed from Minnesota Highway 36 to Interstate 694 for resurfacing work. Lane and ramp closures in the area begin at 7 p.m. Friday.

During the closure, traffic will be detoured east on Minnesota Highway 36, north on Snelling Avenue and west on I-694.

Minnesota Highway 100, St. Louis Park

By now, you know the drill when it comes to this highway. Northbound Highway 100 will close between Interstate 394 and Minnesota Highway 62 from 10 p.m. Friday to Monday morning. It's part of the overall Highway 100 upgrade project.

An early heads-up: Next weekend, MnDOT will close southbound Highway 100 between I-394 and Highway 62.

Interstate 94, St. Paul

From 10 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday, both directions of I-94 will be down to a single lane between Snelling and Cretin avenues.

Meanwhile, even pedestrians and bicyclists are feeling the pinch from I-94 road construction. The Grotto Street pedestrian and bike bridge closed earlier this week; it'll remain closed until October.

The Mackubin Street bridge will stay open through Rondo Days but will close Sunday.

And a second early heads-up (you're welcome): I-94 in St. Paul will close between Minnesota Highway 280 and I-35E during the removal of the bridges next weekend, barring inclement weather.
