1. The family of Philando Castile, the man fatally shot by a police officer last week in Falcon Heights, is seeking a comprehensive review of laws in Minnesota related to police hiring and training. Also, Castile’s mother received a call President Obama. (MPR News)
2. Gov. Mark Dayton was talking taconite Tuesday during a trip to Nashwauk. (Mesabi Daily News) Today, Dayton heads to Litchield and Watkins to view tornado damage.
3. Minnesota has lost a respected, veteran legislator. State Sen. Jim Metzen, DFL-South St. Paul, died at age 72 after a battle with lung cancer. (MPR News)
