Updraft® - Minnesota Weather News

Plenty of sun, low humidity

Timing is important when it comes to weather.

Most people aren't amused when it rains all weekend, and then the sun pops out as they head back to work.

That is not the case this weekend!

Nearby high pressure will dominate our weather:

That will mean plenty of sunshine, with occasional patchy clouds. The exception might be over far northwestern Minnesota, where a stray shower is possible today. Scattered showers are also possible over far northern Minnesota Sunday night.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale Forecast System shows the Sunday night showers to the north:

Slow warming trend

Highs today will be a few degrees warmer than yesterday, but still a bit below average:

Highs Sunday will rise into the lower 80s over the south, with upper 70s over most of northern Minnesota:

Our Fourth of July will feature highs around 80 over northern Minnesota, lower 80s in central locations, and mid 80s over the south. It will be more humid by Monday afternoon, with dew points creeping up into the lower 60s over central and southern Minnesota.

Flooding to the south

Several inches of rain are possible over parts of Kansas, Missouri, Illinois and far southern Iowa from today and tonight into early Sunday.
