Cancer Moonshot Summits being held across country, including at U of Minnesota

Vice President Joe Biden is holding a "Cancer Moonshot Summit" in Washington on Wednesday. The daylong summit is expected to draw researchers, oncologists, advocates, patients, and industry groups- all aimed at doubling the rate of progress toward a cure for cancer, the disease that kills nearly 600,000 Americans a year.

Regional summits will take place all over the country at the same time, including one at the University of Minnesota.

Tom Weber talked with Dr. Douglas Yee, director of the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota. Yee is out in Washington for the summit, which he was invited by Biden's office to attend.
