Most of Minnesota woke up to sunny skies this morning, but pesky clouds shrouded the eastern parts of our state:

We could see scattered light rain showers over eastern Minnesota this morning, with some breaks in the clouds this afternoon.

It will be breezy and cool today, with highs mostly in the 70s:

Temperatures and humidity levels will increase tomorrow. Most of Minnesota will see highs in the 80s on Friday, with some 70s along the north shore of Lake Superior:

Saturday thunderstorms

An approaching low pressure system could bring scattered thunderstorms to northwestern Minnesota Friday night, and we should see occasional thunderstorms statewide on Saturday and Saturday night:

Some strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible, especially Saturday afternoon and evening.

If you are traveling this weekend, it will be good to stay aware of which county you are in.  Severe weather warnings are issued by county.

Our Sunday should be dry over most of Minnesota, with highs in the 80s south and 70s north. Far northern Minnesota could see some scattered showers.

Wednesday evening severe reports

Severe weather warnings were issued for many spots in east-central and southeastern Minnesota Wednesday evening. Here are a couple of noteworthy severe weather reports:

At 6:15 p.m. a storm chaser reported that a large tree fell on a boat on main street in Glencoe, which is in Mcleod county.

At 7:55 p.m. a trained severe weather spotter reported 3 inch diameter (baseball size) hail 6 miles southeast of Lonsdale, in Rice county.
