The man identified as the shooter in Orlando appears to have acted alone, with no direction from any outside organization. He had already been investigated by the FBI on two separate occasions.

Understanding how these type of "lone wolf" actors come to their decisions to commit horrific crimes is very difficult, but stopping them is an even harder task to complete.
