The Minnesota State Patrol is asking for the public's help to identify the driver in a hit-and-run that killed 10-year-old Caylin Donovan of Lake Park, Minn.
State Patrol Chief Matt Langer says Caylin was walking on Highway 18 near Mille Lacs Lake just before 8 p.m. last Friday when she was struck. Langer says investigators need to hear from anyone who might have been in the area.
"Whatever you're thinking might be insignificant could be the absolute most significant piece of this puzzle for us to put back together," Langer said.
Langer said the vehicle may not be damaged.
"It's possible that the driver may not have known what they were involved with or the gravity of the situation," Langer said. "Speaking from the heart, speaking honestly, we just want the person to come forward."
