Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible in the marginal risk area, mainly this afternoon and evening.
Mild today, cool Monday
Highs today will be in the upper 60s over much of northeastern Minnesota, with mostly 70s elsewhere in our state. Some spots in southern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities, could touch 80.
A cold front moves through tonight:
Highs in the 60s are expected over much of Minnesota on Monday, with lower 70s possible in the south.
Highs in the Twin Cities will stay in the lower 70s on Tuesday, then the warmup begins.
Shooting for 90
Twin Cities high temps rebound to the upper 70s on Wednesday, and 80s are expected on Thursday.
The Global Forecast System model of the NWS shows an upper-level ridge of high pressure over the middle of the U.S. by Friday:
That will help us warm up nicely. I would expect Friday highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s for much of Minnesota. The very warm temperatures are expected to linger into next Saturday and Sunday.
Sounds like good cabin weather!
