Our average high temp this time of year in the Twin Cities is 68 degrees. We topped out at 58 degrees today, and tomorrow will be even cooler:

In the Twin Cities, showers should end by early afternoon, but chilly winds will stay with us all day.

Friday the 13th

There is no evidence that bad weather is more likely to occur on Friday the 13th, but this tweet caught my eye:

Cold opener

Our Minnesota fishing opener this Saturday will be chilly, to say the least. Saturday morning lows will be in the 20s over northern Minnesota, with lower 30s in the south:

It will be windy too, with morning wind chill temperatures in the 20s.

Our Saturday highs would be more typical of early April than the middle of May!

Warmup in sight

Hang in there if you'd like some warmer weather.

Forecast models show that we could hit 70 next Thursday. After that, some even warmer days are likely.

The medium range outlook from the Climate Prediction Center of the National Weather Service shows a tendency for above normal temperatures for the May 20 through May 26 period:
