May outlook
April was fairly normal in the Twin Cities. The average temperature for the month was six-tenths of a degree above normal. The warmest reading at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was 80 degrees, on April 16. The coldest low temperature was 20 degrees, on April 9.
Rainfall was .18 inch above normal.
The May temperature outlook from the Climate Prediction Center of the National Weather Service shows a tendency for above normal temperatures over Minnesota and Wisconsin:
We will always have some warm days and some cool days during any given month. It is the average temperature for the entire month that has a tendency to be above normal.
