Cool Saturday, warmer Sunday

Friday bursts of snow. Not the best way to finish our week!

It was just a temporary setback to our spring, but I can't imagine that anyone enjoyed seeing April snowflakes.

The National Weather Service tweeted this reminder that April snow isn't unusual:

One-half inch of snow was measured today at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.  Plymouth MN reported one inch. In Wright county, Monticello reported 2.4 inches.

At least the snow melted quickly today!

Chilly start to weekend

Our weekend will start out cold, with Saturday morning lows in the teens over much of Minnesota, even some single digits in the far north. Highs Saturday will be 10 to 15 degrees below normal:

Warmer Sunday

A low pressure system moves across the upper midwest Saturday night and Sunday:

We could see a passing shower late Saturday or Sunday. Highs on Sunday will be close to normal for this time of year at many locations:

A shot at 60s late next week

Temperatures dip below normal on Monday, and it will also be windy. Temps recover slightly on Tuesday, then warm back into the 50s over southern Minnesota on Wednesday. 60s seem like a real possibility next Thursday:

Forecast models keep the warm air over us into next weekend. That would be great!
