Prosecutors have filed charges in a fatal shooting at a St. Paul park.
Twenty-five-year-old Jerome Hall Jr. was at Hazel Park Recreation Center with a female friend last September when they were approached by two men. A criminal complaint says one man threw the woman to the ground and assaulted her while the other man fought with Hall. The woman escaped and told police she heard gunshots as she fled.
Twenty-four-year-old Melvin Holmes Jr. is charged with second-degree murder, aggravated robbery and criminal sexual conduct. The St. Paul Pioneer Press says police are still looking for the second man.
The complaint says Hall was found shot in the chest and face at a baseball diamond in the park. It was not immediately clear if Holmes has an attorney.
