Our weekend is starting with some rain and snow, as a low pressure system tracks through the upper Midwest:
The Twin Cities metro area and southeastern Minnesota will see rain at times this Saturday and Saturday night, and we could see some flakes mixed with the rain late Saturday night and very early Sunday morning. We do expect some sunshine Sunday afternoon.
Portions of Minnesota will see some accumulating snow today and tonight, with the most snow expected over northeastern and far southwestern Minnesota. Here is a nice summary from the Twin Cities office of the National Weather Service:

Our winds will switch to the east and then to the south from Monday to Tuesday, and temperatures will warm nicely:
Some showers are expected Wednesday and Wednesday night, with a thunderstorm also possible.
Cool start to April?
The Climate Prediction Center of the National Weather Service released this outlook for April 2 through April 8:
It shows Minnesota and Wisconsin with a high probability for below normal temps for the beginning of April. It doesn't necessary mean that all those days will be cooler than normal, but the average temp for the April 2 through April 8 period is expected to be below normal.
