Good morning, and let me be among the first to wish you a happy Friday. It's been a busy week, and the weekend seems strangely overdue. Let's check the Digest.

1. A proposal to fund grants for new support staff cleared its first legislative hurdle Thursday. The legislation would provide matching state funding to schools for hiring licensed guidance counselors, psychologists, social workers, nurses, or drug addiction counselors. (MPR News)

2. The debate over rural broadband Internet service is on again at the Capitol. Gov. Dayton proposed $100 million in his supplemental budget the other day, but a bill heard in a House committee Thursday would spend $35 million. (MPR News)

3. Minnesota was the only state Marco Rubio won during his presidential campaign (along with Puerto Rico and Washington D.C.). So what will happen to the delegates he won here? (Pioneer Press)

4. President Obama says if the Senate refuses to consider Judge Merrick Garland for the Supreme Court it will hurt public confidence in the judiciary and could damage the Supreme Court itself. (NPR)

5. Bernie Sanders supporters insist he can still win the Democratic presidential nomination, and he can. But it would be difficult for him and much easier for Hillary Clinton. They've already started their next battle in Arizona. (Politico)
