Snow on Friday caused slick roads in parts of central and northern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin.

The low pressure system that dumped the snow is moving away, and a high pressure system moves in on Saturday, along with warmer high temps:

On Sunday, the next low pressure system moves toward us, and winds will increase over the upper midwest:

You'll notice that much of California will see some welcome rain on Sunday.

Locally, southwesterly winds on Sunday will warm us up nicely:

The European forecast model warms us up to 60 in the Twin Cities on Sunday, and we could approach 60 if we have a lot of sun through mid afternoon.  Mid 50s would be impressive too, since our average high is only 36 degrees!

Looking ahead, the European forecast model gives us very warm highs to start next week:

Lower 60s are shown for Monday, with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. There is a good chance of rain Monday night into Tuesday.

The average date of our first 60 degree reading in the Twin Cities is March 29,  so if we reach 60 on Monday it would be about 3 weeks earlier than normal!

A cold front moves through Minnesota Tuesday evening, resulting in high temps in the 30s on Wednesday.
