A strong low pressure system tracks across Minnesota today, so it will be very windy. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning until noon today for far southwestern Minnesota. Winds could gust from 50 to 60 mph in that area until around noon today:
After noon, far southwestern Minnesota will remain in a wind advisory for gusts over 40 mph. West-central Minnesota and much of southern Minnesota are in a wind advisory until 6pm today for sustained winds over 30 mph and gusts from 40 to 55 mph. Isolated higher gusts are possible. The gusty winds will make driving difficult at times today, especially for high profile vehicles.

Periods of rain are expected over southern and central Minnesota this morning and an isolated thunderstorm is also possible. Northern Minnesota could see periods of rain, possibly mixed with sleet and snow at times.
