Today's Morning Edition music is from "Godawful Things" by Lake Street Dive. It's a track from their new album "Side Pony," which comes out Friday.

A side pony is a hairstyle and a slang term that fits the band's personality. Guitarist and Minneapolis native Mike "McDuck" Olson says, "It has also come to mean anything you're doing for the sheer joy of it. We have always 'rocked our side pony.' Now we have a convenient phrase for it."

They will be playing in Minneapolis on March 10, but not at a Lake Street dive. The sold-out show will be at First Avenue.
