Frawley worked a a zookeeper at the Minnesota Zoo more than 25 years ago. More recently, he was the CEO of Bay.org, a San Francisco-based conservation nonprofit.
The Minnesota native plans to help people connect to conservation projects across the state.
"A lot's been done inside the zoo and the zoo has a great master plan. The zoo has never looked better," Frawley said. "But I also think the zoo can serve Minnesota throughout the state. And we can get into the fabric of working with Minnesotans on all kinds of conservation and education issues."
