The Minneapolis School Board will consider its options at a public meeting Tuesday night as it grapples with restarting a superintendent search that's gone on almost a year.
Interim Superintendent Michael Goar withdrew his candidacy for the permanent position Saturday, marking the latest in a series of snags in the search process.
The school board cut off contract talks two weeks ago with its first pick after allegations that special needs students suffered physical abuse in his old district. Goar was then presumed to be next in line, but that option saw strong protest by those who think he hasn't done enough to help students of color succeed.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Minneapolis school board Chair Jenny Arneson.
