Music legend Paul Simon will appear live at St. Paul's Fitzgerald Theater next month, when musician Chris Thile once again hosts A Prairie Home Companion.
Thile will take the mic for shows on Jan. 30 and Feb. 6. Musical guests for the January show include Brandi Carlile and Ben Folds. In February, the singer-songwriter Simon will be joined by Andrew Bird.
Garrison Keillor will not be performing at either show. Keillor has announced plans to retire as host of A Prairie Home Companion and has named Thile as his successor. Thile, a mandolin player, has hosted occasionally since then.
Simon, 74, became famous in the 1960s as part of the duo Simon and Garfunkel and has pursued a distinguished solo career since then. He has earned a dozen Grammys and numerous other honors and awards.
