Dec. 7 is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, which this year marks the 74th anniversary of the surprise attack on the Hawaiian naval base.
In the days following the Dec. 7, 1941, attack, the Library of Congress recorded reactions from ordinary Americans. It did the same thing after Sept. 11, 2001.
These tapes form an American RadioWorks documentary showing how both Pearl Harbor and Sept. 11 ignited their own flavors of patriotism and racism.
